What to expect

7 July - 14 July

Imagine a week long cruise, sailing across the crystal clear waters of an archipelago that is in a constant state of flux.

The Stockholm Archipelago is the largest archipelago in Sweden. It started taking shape during the post-glacial-rebound, when masses of land that had been compressed due to the weight of the ice, began to surface above the waters. What is truly amazing is that this land continues to rise a few millimetres each year!

We will pass thousands of small islands and islets, sample some of the best slow food Scandinavia has to offer and enjoy sailing on our Swan 51, a yacht that offers comfort and safety, with a sense of adventure.

This trip will leave you more than satisfied, as you choose between numerous routes, stay on a private island, explore local fishing villages and pretty towns. Enjoy your time soaking up the experience, as you relax and unwind, or try your hand at navigating under the expert guidance of our skipper.

Our adventure starts from Sandhamn or 'the Sand Island', near Stockholm. Sandhamn is a lively summer village, just an hour away from downtown Stockholm. This island is the ideal place for a rich experience exploring this fascinating archipelago, covered with white sandy beaches and barren rocks. This little island is alive with restaurants, bars and shops, but also at the same time, offers great walking paths along its beaches. This is the perfect place to escape everyday realities, just detach and unwind.

Mariehamn, the capital of the autonomous Åland Islands is our next stop. Mariehamn is known for its deep-rooted maritime heritage and traditions. Don't miss the marvellous windjammer in the marina that is open for the public to visit. Windjammers were great merchant sailing ships, with three to five large masts and square sails that gave them their characteristic profile.

From Mariehamn, we sail to Kökar, part of the autonomous region of Åland. Kökar offers everything from medieval monasteries to stunning natural vistas. Rent a bike or just take a walk around a coastline that will absolutely take your breath away. At night, relish a scrumptious dinner at one of the local restaurants called Havspaviljongen in Hellsö.

We sail to Hangö, or Hanko in English, a popular summer destination, especially among the boating community. It is lush with pines and shrubs, nestled in the calm waters of the archipelago. Hangö is also popular for its amazing seaside restaurants and lively social scene. Don't miss dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants

Next, we stop at the Estonian coast and the old medieval town of Tallinn. Situated on the northern coast of Estonia, Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. Tallinn is an exciting mix of old and new. Enjoy short scenic strolls here and don't miss a walk to Tallinn old town, one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centres in the world! Explore an alluring coastline bespeckled with promenades, sandy beaches and scenic views of the iconic cityscape.

As we reach the last leg of our unforgettable adventure, we sail to Helsinki across the Finnish Gulf. This is our final port, where we will disembark. To say our final goodbyes, we will meet for a farewell dinner at the famous NJK Yacht Club.

We truly hope to see you aboard our boat, where you can become a part of an adventure that will leave you mesmerised now and forever.
