Koh Racha Speedboat Tour

Yacht Charter and Boat Rental in Phuket

Adventure Provided by: Jocelyn G. · Charter Operator

What to expect

The Racha Islands (or Raya) are composed of “Koh Racha Yai” and “Koh Racha Noi.” The names given to the Thailand’s islands often use the adjectives “Yai” and “Noi” which respectively express the notion of size, large/big for “Yai” and small for “Noi”. The term Racha means King. “Racha Yai” can thus be translated by the large island of the King and “Rachai Noi” by the small island of the King.

Koh Rachai Yai is bordered by turquoise waters and has several white sandy beaches. The bays, shielded from the wind, are perfect for facilitating the practice of snorkelling all year long. The Batok’s bay in the north-west and the Konkare’s bay in the northeast allow access on the island to enjoy the luxurious beaches.

The second island, Racha Noi  Yai”. This is the last point of land before the open sea. “Rachai Noi” is uninhabited, except by nanny-goats and some species of reptiles that add to the tranquillity of this outstanding site. The island has a small white sand beach and long strips of land are covered with plentiful vegetation. The island is rarely visited by other tourist boats.

The coral reefs around both islands are inhabited by many families of molluscs such as the giant clams, the nudibranchs, many small crustaceans and fish species mixing the rainbow’s colours as the parrotfishes, the clownfishes and the damselfishes.
