What to expect

Welcome onboard the largest and most modern nuclear-powered icebreaker in the world. The spoon-shaped bow of the vessel is designed for greater icebreaking ability and makes the ship capable of forcing its way through 2.5 meters thick ice fields!

We don’t have the heart to use "she" when we talk about this ship – it’s not ladylike at all. Elegance doesn’t matter when it comes to the right vessel to take you to the top of the world. The most powerful icebreaker ever built generates 75,000 horsepower and crushes multi-year ice layers three meters thick. After a few days aboard, you’ll feel it sharing power as you together battle your way through the Arctic icecap to 90º north.

This breathtaking expedition starts in Murmansk, Russia for a roundtrip voyage to the geographic North Pole. You also have the opportunity to explore the rarely visited Russian Arctic archipelago of Franz Josef Land, which is home to a variety of the famous High Arctic wildlife, including polar bears, marine mammals like seals, walrus and whales.

We carefully navigate the icebreaker to precisely 90 degrees north for our champagne toast of this momentous accomplishment and there is no celebration anywhere quite like this. You literally circumambulate the globe in this voyage.

Taking advantage of continuous daylight, we offer flight-seeing tours with the icebreaker’s onboard helicopter, we also fly it to achieve landings in Franz Josef Land when conditions prevent landings by Zodiac. Weather permitting, flight-seeing tours and landings by helicopter are included free on all North Pole voyages,

The package also includes a free photography program to learn and practice your photography skills alongside an expert photographer. Yes - you will bring home breathtaking images that along with the beautiful memories will make this expedition an unforgettable and magical adventure!
