What to expect

Located in the middle of the North Atlantic, Europe's western-most border, the Azores Archipelago is an autonomous territory of the Portuguese Republic with political and administrative autonomy. The nine islands of the Azores Archipelago are volcanic in origin and scattered along a 600 km stretch of ocean from Santa Maria to Corvo. These islands are segmented into three different groups: the eastern group, comprising the islands of Santa Maria and São Miguel, the central group includes the islands of Terceira, Graciosa, São Jorge, Pico and Faial and the western group, the islands of Flores and Corvo.

Discover the beauty of the island of Santa Maria on this 2.5 hour cruise. Santa Maria is mainly known for its white sandy beaches, characteristic chimneys and dry warm weather. The weather is not the only warm thing that Santa Maria has to offer! The hospitality and warmth shown by the locals will fill your hearts with joy! Everything about this island is real, welcoming and extraordinary.

Santa Maria is the oldest island in the Azores. Some 4 million years ago volcanic activity thrust this island out of the ocean. It promptly sank and then resurfaced a few hundred years later as the other Azorean islands were being formed.

The island also boasts of pristine fine sandy beaches and spots for hiking. The rolling landscape is generally dry with limestone or luxurious with vineyards and traditional agricultural villages. Santa Maria has a rich maritime history and is proud of its culture and the local architecture of white chimneys and blue bars, as it takes you back to the traditions of the first settlers here from southern Portugal.

Relax and rejuvenate energy as you swim and snorkel in crystal aquamarine waters. Explore the vivid sub aqua flora and fauna or just catch up on some sun as the white sandy beaches provide the perfect spaces to unwind and disconnect. There is no better way to discover the natural wonders of the Azores, other than sailing. So come join us, let go and let the Azores create their magic just for you.

Please Note: The base and the starting point of this cruise is the Vila do Porto Marina, located near to the oldest historic town of the Azores.
