Michela is our SEM expert. She is a true digital nomad and can't stay still. Very often she speaks a weird language which sounds like: "SEM, KPI's, CTR, conversion rate..." But then she is kind enough to translate it for all of us mortals :)

What brought you all the way to Nowboat?

As the HR folks used to say at Google, "Good people have good friends". I was brought to Nowboat's family by a very good friend of mine.

Your favourite part of the day?

Mid-morning, when I have my second breakfast, usually with a big slice of cake and a long black coffee.

What do you do exactly for Nowboat? Explain your discipline like we were 2 years old!

You know all those annoying ads that appear when you do a search on Google? Yes, those that you don't click, ever. I do that. I'm evil.

When you are not working you…

I used to travel a lot, now I do yoga, climbing, running, scuba diving, trying to learn to surf, cooking desserts and watching tv-series on Netflix (my latest addiction is Black Mirror)

If you could afford ANY of our trips which one would you take, with whom and why?

Probably, I would go to the Galapagos Islands, a mix of beautiful sea and adventure.

Your 2017 resolutions are

I do the resolution of not doing resolutions. I don't do plans, I don't like lists or return tickets. I let life happen and take the best of it.

The last time you cried

I cry all the time.Last time I was watching the movie "Sully".

A book everyone should read, and why

"Adesso Basta", by Simone Perotti. It helped me a lot when I decided to change my life.

Tell us about the place you live in

I have been traveling for 5 years, from Milan to London, Australia, India, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, and many other countries. At the moment I'm back in Milan, where my family and friends are.

Your most rewarding moment with Nowboat

I was invited to the annual team gathering in Tuscany, last October and even though the weather was cold and wet, the place and the people were very warm and welcoming and they made me feel like a part of the family.

If you had to give up pasta or pizza which one would it be?

You really can't ask this question. To an Italian it is like giving up your mother... but, probably pizza. The only place I have been that didn't make me miss italian food was India.

If you had to give up movies or tv series which one would it be?

Movies.

If you had to give up one of your colleagues who would it be? (i.e. my boss because she forced me to do this interview)

I'm so lucky that as a freelancer, I don't have any boss or colleagues to give up. :)

The worst Christmas present you got:

A  bottle-opener in the shape of a dolphin.

Do you have a dog? A cat? What’s his name?

No, but I had a super cute rabbit whose name was Godzilla.

If you could be any animal which one would you want to be?

Any kind of bird that can fly (not a chicken).

A quote that describes your philosophy of life:

"con un sì ti impicci, con un no ti spicci" I can't translate it... ;)

An easy to cook recipe we should try:

Pasta aglio olio e peperoncino is the best food when you are really hungry.

A place you visited you think everyone should see:

New Delhi, India.

Tell us a secret, nobody’s reading!

I'm trying to be vegetarian for ethical reasons, the environment, the anti-consumer thing etc. - but I really love meat, especially raw meat. And fish, also. Did I say that I love sushi?
