Margherita is our copywriter, most of the copy you find on our website is written by her. She spends her life traveling and part of her day writing about the incredible places she has seen!

What brought you all the way to Nowboat?

I love the sea, but I suffer from sea sickness! I hope working with Nowboat will cure me of this terrible disease. I found out about Nowboat on a digital nomads forum – a copywriter was needed, so here I am!

Your favourite part of the day?

The morning, because I love sleeping and I usually wake up around 10 am! Jokes aside, I also love sunset – especially if I’m near a beach!

What do you do exactly for Nowboat? Explain your discipline like we were 2 years old!

I am a copywriter, so I get to daydream all day about travelling the seven seas on a luxury yacht and getting into all sorts of adventures and I write about it all on the Nowboat site!

When you are not working you…

Play with my cat Tappo! I also love travelling – check out my travel blog ‘The Crowded Planet’ if you like! This year I’ll visit Egypt, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and maybe more. I also love coffee, hiking, street food, running and TV series, though not necessarily in that order!

If you could afford ANY of our trips which one would you take, with whom and why?

Ah this is easy – this one: North Pole Expedition!
I LOVE the Arctic – last year I took a day-long icebreaker cruise in Lapland and loved it!

The last time you cried:

When I found out my 93 year old grandmother had fallen ill, I was in the middle of nowhere in Russia and couldn’t reach her. But guess what? She’s all better now!

A book everyone should read, and why.

The Master and Margarita! First of all, because I was named after it. That’s a good enough reason to read it, don’t you think? It’s a wonderful novel. In a nutshell, it’s about the Devil visiting Soviet Moscow. Trust me, it’s amazing!

Tell us about the place you live in:

I’m a digital nomad, on the move for most of the year. Most of our time is spent between Europe and Asia, but this year we’ll head to Southern Africa instead. When I’m not travelling I visit my family in Milan – and I must admit, I love the city!

Your most rewarding moment with Nowboat:

My first conference call with Giovanni and the rest of the team. I loved their enthusiasm and felt privileged to be part of it all!

If you had to give up pasta or pizza which one would it be?

None. And I wouldn’t give up coffee, either. Or beer. Or ramen.

If you had to give up movies or tv series which one would it be?

At the moment, movies! I’m crazy about TV series and watch a couple of episodes every night before bedtime. Two of my 2016 faves are the OA and Stranger Things, but my all-time love will always be Game of Thrones!

If you had to give up one of your colleagues who would it be?

I’ve only just joined, so don’t make me answer that please!

The worst Christmas present you got:

A tiny deck chair to rest your head while hiking in the mountains. Yes, exactly.

Do you have a dog? A cat? What’s his name?

I have a cute but evil cat, Tappo! He’s a rescue cat - my mum found him. He’s very beautiful, but a little bit deranged - he loves biting people. He’s an Instagram celebrity with almost 5000 followers! You can follow him on @tappo_cat.

If you could be any animal which one would you want to be?

Well, definitely some kind of cat because I love sleeping. I could be a house cat and be spoilt like Tappo! But I also love foxes and they get to stay outdoors more, so either a cat or a fox.

A quote that describes your philosophy of life:

Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life. (J.Kerouac)

An easy to cook recipe we should try:

Pasta Carbonara! It’s my campsite and hostel staple. Just cook some bacon, whisk some eggs with parmesan cheese and black pepper and mix it all into cooked, just-drained spaghetti. Please don’t use cream. Please.

A place you visited you think everyone should see:

The Philippines! We fell in love with the beaches, the diving, the nature and the people. There is only one issue – internet coverage is terrible. That’s not an issue if you’re on vacation, but if you are a digital nomad it can be annoying!
