Good to know

  • Enjoy some of the world's best diving in Borneo
  • Explore unspoiled island paradises
  • Stunning reefs and vibrant fish life
Diving in Malaysia has nothing to envy to its most famous neighbors, Thailand and Indonesia - whether you opt to go diving in Borneo or Peninsular Malaysia you'll be surprised by the excellent state of the reefs with colorful corals, the thriving underwater life and rock formations. Divers heading to Malaysia all pay a visit to Sipadan, a sloping coral wall off the coast of the Bornean state of Sabah that is said to be one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Near Sipadan you'll also find Mabul, home to Malaysia's best macro diving. The east coast of Malaysia is another diving hotspot - places like Rendang and the Perhentian islands offer excellent diving conditions all year round minus the monsoon season, taking place between October and March. Perhentian is probably the best place in Malaysia for beginner divers, thanks to its low prices and great wildlife-watching even in shallow waters - there are plenty of turtles! However, the easiest place to reach from KL and Penang is definitely Langkawi, one of Malaysia's premier beach destinations - and diving in Langkawi is excellent, with great visibility and plenty of underwater life.  Keep browsing our listings and start planning your Malaysia diving adventure!
