Good to know

  • Taste the flavors of the British Virgin Islands on board your luxury charter
  • Enjoy delicious fruit and freshly caught fish
  • Discover traditional street food in capital Road Town
The gourmet cuisine of the British Virgin Islands (usually called BVI for short) reflects the heritage and history of these fascinating islands, product of cultural exchanges thanks to trade and immigration. The result is a melting-pot of culinary traditions, borrowing from as far afield as India, West Africa, Europe and the rest of the Caribbean.
Sampling traditional food is a highlight of all visits to the Caribbean - and the BVI are no exception. You can ask your chef to prepare some traditional BVI dishes on board to enjoy as you cruise or sail around the islands, or head to a local eatery in Road Town to eat like the locals do.
Seafood is an important part of BVI gourmet traditions - it is said that Anegada lobsters are the best in the Caribbean, and you’ll also be able to try quintessential specialties like conch stew and fish chowder. Popular dishes include fungi, a mixture of okra and cornmeal usually enjoyed with saltfish, roti with meat or veggie curries and pate, fried dough filled with meat, saltfish or conch. Our luxury catamaran expeditions include wonderful breakfast spreads and delicious dinners under the stars.
