Good to know

  • Sail around Ecuador and enjoy the Pacific coast
  • Explore the unique ecosystem of the Galapagos Islands
  • Watch the sunset from the deck of your luxury yacht
Sailing Ecuador is the best way to explore the country’s spectacular – and unexplored – Pacific coast. If you’re after a true expedition, it’s also possible to sail from Ecuador to the Galapagos Islands, famous for their endemic wildlife and ecosystem.
The Galapagos are about 1000 km off the Ecuador coast, meaning that a boat crossing would take at least three days sailing across the blue Pacific waters with stunning sunsets and starry skies to keep you company.
The isolation of the Galapagos islands from mainland Ecuador contributed to create their irreplaceable ecosystem, with many endemic species above and beneath the waves, making for great diving. You’ll find sea lions stretching on the beach and frolicking in the ocean, blue footed boobies and frigate birds with their puffy red chests, land and marine iguanas, colorful crabs and giant tortoises. Sailing the Galapagos is the ideal way to move between islands, as each of them offers something unique.
If you can’t travel all the way to the Galapagos, sailing the Ecuador coast means exploring tropical forest, sleepy beach towns and stretches of golden sand with some of the best surfing spots on the South American Pacific coast.
