- Taiwan snorkeling - one of the world’s best kept secrets!
- Ideal for beginners and for the whole family
- The ideal activity to add to your Taiwan cruise
Have you ever considered snorkeling in Taiwan? This small island nation 180km east of the Chinese coast offers underwater corals and wildlife that rival more famous snorkeling destinations like
Thailand or
Indonesia. To make matters even better,
the coasts of Taiwan are still wild and unspoiled. The island has also a
great surf scene, thanks to its great breaks and Hawaiian feel.
Snorkeling is a wonderful addition to
cruising Taiwan and it’s the
perfect activity for families and beginners, as there are several excellent snorkeling sites that are only a few meters deep, offering calm seas and good visibility.
Water and weather conditions are warm year round in Taiwan - however, it does get a little chilly (around 15-18°) in winter and cyclones often hit in September.
Taiwan snorkeling hotspots include
Kenting Beach on the southernmost tip of the country, popular with locals because of its tropical vibe. In the northern part of Taiwan there’s great snorkeling near
Fulong Beach, around
Tongsiao Marine Life Park and on
Baishawan Beach, between
Linshanbi and
Cape Fuguei. For something a little more off the beaten track, head to one of Taiwan’s outlying islands like
Green Island or
Orchid Island, true untouched paradises!
