Good to know

  • Sail away from beautiful Barcelona
  • Discover the hidden coves of Costa Brava
  • Head south to Terres de l'Ebre
Catalonia must be Spain's favourite playground. This region in the northern part of the country, close to the French border, has delicious cuisine and a fierce local identity, including a separate language and unique culture. But it is when it comes to nature that Catalonia is truly blessed - the region is between mountains and sea, between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, including opportunities for fun and adventure all year round. The northern coast of Catalonia is known as Costa Brava - 'Brava' means rugged or wild, in reference to the dramatic morphology of the coast, with cliffs, secluded coves and rocky inlets. Some of the most popular coastal towns in Costa Brava include Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Matarò and Palafrugell, all places where you can easily charter a sailboat or yacht to cruise along the coast, discovering secret beaches with great snorkeling opportunities. Further south you'll find the great city of Barcelona and Tarragona before reaching the Terres de l'Ebre protected area, where the Ebro river meets the sea. This part of Catalonia is still quite undiscovered and offers opportunities to relax while staying close to nature - ideal if you're looking for a wellness experience!
