Good to know

So, what about surfing in Croatia? I bet you’ve never thought about it - and you’d be right, as Croatia is far from being a top surfing location. Yes, the Adriatic does see some wind, especially between the months of September and November, and activities like windsurfing and kitesurfing are fairly popular - but the Italian peninsula located just opposite Croatia acts as a barrier, blocking the formation of swell. If you’re planning to surf in the Mediterranean, locations like Sardinia, Corsica and the western Italian coast offer far more reliable conditions. Having said that, you may be lucky and encounter decent swells in Croatia - places like Brac, Hvar and the Peljesac peninsula sometimes offer ‘surfable’ waves. After all, where there is a will, there’s a way! And even if you can’t find surfing, Croatia is gorgeous - enjoy the beaches and the delicious Croatian food!   Planning to try your luck surfing in Croatia? Have a look at our listings below!
