Good to know

  • Windsurf the beautiful Indonesian waves
  • Steady winds between May and November
  • Opportunities to enjoy other fun adventure activities around Indonesia
Are you planning to windsurf around Indonesia? Well, you’ve made the right choice! Indonesia is a beach paradise with about 18,000 islands to explore - add sun and wind into the mix, a lively party scene and affordable prices, and you’ve found one of the best windsurfing destinations in the world. Windsurfing conditions in Indonesia are best between May and September, when the southeasterly trade winds reach Indonesia, marking the end of the rainy season - and the beginning of the ‘windy season’, offering also great options for kitesurf and surf lovers. Tourist central Bali is a good choice, especially for beginners, as the wind is never very strong. Two of the best beaches are Kuta, which tends to be quite crowded, and Sanur, a quieter spot on the southeastern coast. Lombok is another great windsurfing spot, with kilometers of reefs just off the southeastern coast of the island - this overnight Lombok cruise is the perfect option to get out of Bali for a day and surf Lombok!
